There’s nothing like the start of a new year to inspire our hopes and optimism. And it´s also a great time to rethink our approach to learning English.

Many Spanish people tell me that their biggest frustration with English is a lack of progression despite the time, effort and resources they invest. However, many of these people who complain are unable to recognise that there maybe something wrong with their learning approach. Instead they believe that English is the problem. ¡Too difficult!

The best thing I can do for you in 2018 is not to teach your more grammar but instead help you to develop a new perspective for learning English, and change the way you plan, prepare and practice in order to maximise your speaking and listening performance. A shift from studying to performing.

The best way to learn English (or any activity) is by doing; through a series of real-life actions and interactions that enable you to experience it fully through all of your senses. And so, with the right tools, structure and guidance you can change the arc of your learning, performance and progression. It starts with understanding the basic principles of learning and how to navigate the world of interactions we live in today.

Every opportunity has a cost, whether or not you take advantage of it. It’s easier to think that later will be a better time, but the reality is that by waiting, you miss out on something that could be using now. Learning English won’t magically get easier next week, next month or even next year. If you want to see changes, something has to change. You!

Maybe 2018 is the time to invest in changing your approach to learning English. Waiting doesn’t work, but learning, doing and interacting do.

Imagine what you could do if you understood how to build and implement an English learning plan that made you confident that you were doing the right thing, in the right way and at the right time. Learning is an investment in your future self. And for many English is the key to unlocking new opportunities.

Are you ready to invest in You?
